Gardaí appeal for witnesses to garda crash in Limerick

Three gardaí and two members of the public were taken to hospital after the collison on Saturday night.

GARDAÍ IN Limerick are appealing for witnesses to a crash involving a garda vehicle on Saturday to come forward.

A white garda Toyota Landcruiser was involved in a collision with a red Volkwagen Passat shortly before 11pm on Saturday night at Barrigone in Co Limerick.

The garda vehicle was travelling towards Foynes and the Passat was driving in the opposite direction.

Three gardaí and two occupants of the Passat were taken to Mid-Western Regional Hospital but have since all been released.

Any witnesses to the collision, or who may have noticed a red Passat in the area before the collision, are asked to contact Askeaton Garda Station on 061 601630, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
