Gardaí appeal for witnesses to Swords assault

One man received serious head injuries and another has been arrested after a fight in Swords village.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses following an incident in Swords earlier today.

At around 12.50pm, a man in his 40s sustained serious head injuries during a dispute with a second man on Main St in the town.

The man was taken by Ambulance to Beaumont Hospital, where his condition is described as serious.

The second man, who is in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Coolock Garda Station.

The scene is preserved for a technical and forensic examination.
