Gardaí investigating Mayo road death

A 23 year old man has died following a traffic collision in Co Mayo.

GARDAÍ IN MAYO are investigating a fatal road traffic collision in which a 23-year-old man was killed last night.

The incident occurred near the village of Bohola, Co Mayo, shortly before 11.30pm. A 23-year-old man, the driver and only occupant of a car, was fatally injured when his car was involved in a collision with another vehicle.  The two occupants of the second vehicle were uninjured.

The injured man was removed to Mayo General Hospital where he died a short time later.

The crash happened on the N5 at Carrowgowan near the village of Bohola. The road at the scene remains closed today pending an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
