Gardaí investigating number of incidents in Cork, including criminal damage and hit and run

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING a number of incidents that occurred in Cork on the evening of Friday 23 August.

At around 5.40pm there was an incident of criminal damage at a property in the Shanakiel area. No injuries have been reported.

A short time later, at approximately 6.10pm, a road traffic collision occurred on the Churchfield Road when a Motorcycle collided with a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man in his 60s, was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment. His condition is currently described as serious.

The motorcyclist and pillion passenger failed to remain at the scene.

A male (20s) who was arrested in connection with this investigation has since been released from custody. 

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information in relation to these incidents or road users with video footage to contact them.
