Gardaí recover firearms and ammo from Dublin school

The National School on Basin Lane, Dublin 8, was searched by gardaí today following reports of suspicious activity in the school grounds in the last number of days.

GARDAÍ HAVE RECOVERED three shotguns and a small quantity of ammunition during a search at a National School in Dublin city.

Gardaí discovered the firearms, which were wrapped in plastic, on the roof of the school at about 11.30 am. The area was immediately sealed off for a forensic technical examination before the guns were removed for further examination.

An investigation into the incident is on-going and anyone with information is asked to contact Kilmainham Garda station on 01 666 9700.
