Updated 18.25pm

GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN are appealing for information after a burglary at the post office on Upper Ormond Quay in Dublin city centre this morning.

Two men wearing high-vis vests were spotted acting suspiciously outside the old Ormond Hotel on the north quays at around 8am this morning. Gardaí have confirmed that they entered the post office by digging through the wall of the hotel.

They then reappeared at around 9.20am wearing motorcycle leathers.

It’s believed both men left the scene on motorbikes with €14,000 cash in the direction of Smithfield Markets.

No firearm or violence was used during the incident.

Anyone with information can contact the Gardaí at the Bridewell on 01 6668200, or on the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.
