Gardaí seize cannabis worth €80k in Longford

A man in his 20s was arrested and later released after gardaí searched the house in Ballinamuck.

GARDAÍ HAVE SEIZED 200 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €80,000 from a house in Longford.

Gardaí from the Longford and Roscommon Divisional Drug Unit discovered the drugs during a search of a house in Ballinamuck on Thursday evening.

The house was sealed off for a technical examination during the search.

A man in his 20s was arrested and detained at Longford Garda Station under the provisions of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

He was released this afternoon without charge and investigations are ongoing.
