Gardaí seize drugs and firearms in Inchicore

An automatic pistol and ammunition, and €30,000 worth of cocaine, are found in two houses in Dublin 8.

ONE MAN has been taken into Garda custody after a number of late-night raids on houses in Inchicore in Dublin, during which drugs and firearms were recovered.

Two houses were searched during the operation, after which an automatic pistol and a ‘a number’ of rounds of ammunition were seized.

A quantity of cocaine was also seized, with a street value Gardaí estimate to be around €20,000.

In a second house a further €10,000 worth of cocaine was seized.

A man – understood to be in his late teens – was arrested at the first house and is being held at Kevin Street Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

In the second house, a female teenager was arrested; she has been subsequently released, and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
