Gardaí look to speak with taxi driver of ‘dark saloon’ in Dublin assault case

Gardaí are looking to speak to anyone who may have been in the Meath Street area on Sunday morning.

GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN are looking to speak to a taxi driver and any one else who may have witnessed an assault that left a man with serious head injuries.

Four people were arrested this morning in connection with the attack, which happened between 1am and 1.30am on Sunday morning.

A man in his 20s was found with serious head injuries on Lamb Alley in Dublin 8 and was brought to St James’ Hospital. He was subsequently transferred to Beaumont, where he remains in a serious condition.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses, specifically looking to speak to a taxi driver who picked up two men on Meath Street at about 1.15am on Sunday morning.

The taxi was a dark or black saloon and possibly an Opel Insignia. The men travelled a short distance and were dropped off at Francis Street.

Gardaí are also looking for anyone who was in the Meath Street, Lamb Alley area between 1am and 1.30am to contact then at Kevin Street Garda Station on 01 666 9400.
