Poll: Do you think gender balance in government is important?

Just 22.3% of TDs who won seats in the last election were women.

NEW TAOISEACH LEO Varadkar came under fire when he revealed his new Cabinet and junior ministry line-up, as critics say he did not place enough women in important roles.

Those who expressed disappointment with his decision said it is not likely to encourage more women to enter politics and aim for the Dáil. The last election saw 35 women win seats, but this is still just 22.3% of the total.

So we want to know: Do you think gender balance in government is important?

Poll Results:

No (6104)
Yes (3144)
I'm not sure (318)
