General Election 2016 RollingNews.ie

Poll: Who would you vote for if a general election is called in the coming weeks?

It looks like a return to the polls could be on the horizon.

IT LOOKS LIKE we could be on the verge of a general election in Ireland.

With Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin continuing talks over the weekend over the email controversy involving Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald and the Maurice McCabe saga, it seems that unless someone blinks we could be heading to the hustings as early as late December.

Fianna Fáil is seeking the resignation of Fitzgerald but Fine Gael is standing by her.

So, if she doesn’t step down over the weekend it looks like it might be the collapse of the fragile government that’s currently held in place by the increasingly unstable looking confidence and support agreement between the two parties.

Today we’re asking: Who would you vote for if a general election is called in the coming weeks?

Poll Results:

Fine Gael (5623)
Sinn Féin (4831)
Fianna Fáil (3155)
Other (1026)
Social Democrats (878)
Green Party (816)
Labour (764)
Solidarity-PBP (559)
Other Independent (557)
Independents 4 Change (195)
Independent Alliance (172)
