Six-year-old girl airlifted to hospital after being overcome by bleach fumes

Emergency services were called to the girl’s home this afternoon.

A CHILD HAS been airlifted to hospital today after being overcome by fumes at her home in county Clare.

Emergency services were called at 4.30pm to reports of a 6-year-old girl suffering from breathing difficulties. Gardaí and paramedics attended and the Shannon-based Coast Guard helicopter was also called to assist.

The girl was assessed at her home and she was later airlifted to University Hospital Limerick for treatment. It is believed she may have accidentally inhaled bleach and became ill.
