Sprinkle some magic on Christmas Eve with The North Portal, built by Glenveagh

No chimney? No problem! Glenveagh has the perfect solution to visit Santa ahead of the big day.

YOU CAN FEEL the magic in the air as Christmas countdowns across Ireland come to a close. With just one more sleep to the big day, one of the questions on children’s minds might be, “How will Santa deliver my presents if we don’t have a chimney?”

A-rated new build homes don’t come with chimneys – so this year, Glenveagh teamed up with broadcaster and children’s author Lucy Kennedy (as well as Santa’s elves of course) to help with the North Portal, built by Glenveagh, and they’ve been busy granting Christmas wishes to the children of Ireland for the last few weeks.

The North Portal is an easy-to-use and family friendly website that allows children across Ireland open a special portal to the North Pole, creating another way for Santa to visit tonight!

It’s as easy as visiting thenorthportal.ie and hitting the ‘Talk To Santa’ button — at which point kids will have a range of interactive options, including telling Santa what they want for Christmas, and the chance to apply for an official North Portal Certificate from Santa Claus himself. The journey through the North Portal site is a magical experience narrated by Santa himself and guaranteed to captivate the attention of young kids who can’t wait for tomorrow morning.

Perhaps most importantly, for each opening of the Portal, Glenveagh will donate €1 to the Jack and Jill Foundation up to €50,000 — enough to provide 2,800 hours of essential nursing care. Specifically, the donations will support the foundations ‘Home for Christmas’ appeal, which helps families keep their children at home during the Christmas period.

Supporting the Jack and Jill Foundation through the Portal could not be any easier, and at the click of a button you’ll receive a pop-up that lets you know simply by participating in the magic of Christmas, you’ve facilitated a donation to one of Ireland’s most important charities.

Eileen O’Malley, Public Relations and Communications Manager at the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation has extolled the virtues of the value of the initiative to the charity, saying: “This Christmas, we’re asking everyone to join us in supporting this magical initiative from our wonderful friends at Glenveagh.

“By opening The North Portal, you’re directly contributing to in-home nursing care and respite support for over 400 families across Ireland. Your help can make a real difference this Christmas.”

Glenveagh has been joined in its appeal this year by broadcaster and children’s author Lucy Kennedy, who spoke of her joy at being involved in something so magical that will make a real difference, “I’m delighted to partner with Glenveagh for the return of The North Portal. It’s such a fantastic initiative, bringing the spirit of Christmas to life while supporting the incredible work of the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation.”

Martin Clancy, Senior Marketing Manager with Glenveagh, also spoke about the importance of Glenveagh’s involvement in the initiative: “Christmas is a magical time for children, and we’re thrilled to partner with the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation to bring that magic to even more families this year and support their Home for Christmas Appeal.”

Remember… the magic happens on Christmas Eve, when you’re fast asleep and you believe! Merry Christmas.

It’s the perfect final Christmas activity before the big day tomorrow, so head over to thenorthportal.ie now to speak to Santa, support The Jack and Jill Foundation and kick off Christmas with a sprinkling of magic.
