Golfer found dead at Cork course

The man, aged in his mid-60s, was golfing on his own. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

A MAN IN his mid-60s was found dead at a golf course in Co Cork this morning.

He had been golfing on his own at Lee Valley Golf Club near Ovens.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A Garda spokesperson said the man’s body was found at around 11.45am.

It’s believed he had begun his round of golf shortly after 8am this morning.

The man’s body has been taken to Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem is expected to take place tomorrow.

While the death is not thought to be suspicious, the results of the post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation, the Garda spokesman said.
