Man (49) due in court after discovery of gun taken in burglary

Around €20,000 worth of a psychoactive stimulant, Pentedrone, was also discovered.

A MAN IS due to appear in court in Carlow this morning after detectives found a gun believed to have been taken during a burglary.

The discovery was made on Thursday morning during a planned raid on a property in Graiguecullen.

Around €20,000 worth of Pentedrone was also discovered. Pentedrone is a psychoactive stimulant. It’s an ingredient in a number of “bath salt” mixes previously sold as legal highs.

A 49-year-old man was arrested at scene and is expected to appear at Carlow District Court at around 9:30am.
