Gunman opens fire at FedEx facility in Chicago - reports

Report was phoned in but police are now investigating.

A GUNMAN HAS killed himself inside a suburban Chicago FedEx facility.

Bedford Police Chief Daniel Godfrey says no other injuries were reported in this morning’s shooting in the suburb of Bedford Park in the US city.

Fox News reports that the man was a former employee and that police were initially called to a domestic disturbance. Shots were then reported as they were on their way to the scene. A FedEx spokesperson confirmed that the shooting happened at one of their shipping facilities.

The identity of the man is not being revealed until his relatives are contacted. Reuters said that police used a remote camera to identify him – and to verify that no-one else was injured in the incident.

- additional reporting by Associated Press.
