Three arrested after hand guns and silencers found in car

The car was searched near Adamstown and the men were arrested at the scene.

THREE MEN WERE arrested after hand guns were found during the search of a car in Dublin.

Gardaí from Ronanstown arrested three males and recovered firearms following a search of a car in west Dublin this afternoon.

They said this evening that the discovery was made when members of the local Garda Drugs Unit stopped a car on the Newcastle Road at Grange near Adamstown at approximately 3pm.

Two hand guns, silencers and ammunition were recovered.

Three males, all aged in their 20s, were arrested at the scene.

They are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at Lucan and Ronanstown Garda Stations.

The investigation is ongoing.
