IN A STRAW poll at TheJournal.ie today, it surprised us that quite a few of us – even those with children – have yet to make a will.
And reading yet another plea from a charity today to think of donating some of what you leave behind to a non-profit, it made us wonder how many of you out there have thought of making plans for how your belongings will be passed on.
Sounds morbid, but it’s a pretty practical question we all will have to consider some day: Have you made a will?

I made my first will at 18, 4 months before my daughter was born. I took out a life assurance policy at the same time. So in the event of my death she would be looked after.
That was nearly 20 years ago.
@Lily: Fair play to you. I’ve 3 life assurance policies due to a mixup, now massively over insured.
Praying the wife doesn’t find out or she’ll be tempted to have me clipped.

Yea, I’ve a will. Have a few relatives I Don’t like. So l have included a few precious peronal items to be left to them, they include things like my toe nail clippings collection.
Yes, my mortgage provider is included in my will. Actually I think they’re the only beneficiary.
There’ll be no children so I don’t see a point. If my brother ever has kids or my husbands sister has any then I’d say we will do something.

If I go now, my parents get everything, which is what I want anyway. If my circumstances change, then I’ll make one.
I feel that this government have robbed me enough in my life, I really don’t want to give them an excuse to rob me even more in death.
