Poll: Should the health system be privatised?

What do you think?

THE HEALTH SERVICE is long the source of headlines, anger and debate.

Today on TheJournal.ie, Julien Mercille argues that Ireland should follow Justin Bieber’s advice and bring in a Canadian-style socialised medicine system.

Socialised medicine, proponents argue, increase access to vital medical care and ensure treatment is not the preserve of the rich.

Mercille says that the Programme for Government is moving Ireland towards a privatised model where hospitals will be run like businesses.

Those who support privatised medicine say it is more efficient and cost-effective for the State.

We’re asking: Should the health system be privatised?
