Here's the Dublin circuit that Jenson Button will drive in an F1 car today

Now you know where to go if you want to see some high-speed antics in Dublin today – or, of course, where to avoid.

IF YOU’RE one of the people who has always bemoaned Formula 1′s absence from Ireland, today’s the closest you might ever get to seeing some of the world’s fastest cars race on this island.

The Bavaria City Racing event takes place in Dublin today, with former world champion Jenson Button among the star attractions – making two trips around the city in his Vodafone McLaren F1 car (beginning at 1:20pm and 2:35pm), as well as one jaunt in an McLaren MP4 supercar at 12:20pm.

He’s not the only F1 driver around, mind: Giedo van der Garde, a reserve driver for the Caterham F1 team, will do three laps in the team’s car at 2pm, 3:25pm and 4:30pm. A full schedule can be found on the BCR website.

Of course, if you’re trying to avoid the area, AA Roadwatch has plenty of advice for you too.
