A scorpion appeared on a building site on Baggot Street in Dublin today.

The unexpected visitor arrived with a delivery of sinks and is suspected to be an unwitting passenger, possibly from Turkey.

The DSPCA received a call from the building site this morning and the scorpion is now in its care. It has called in experts to identify the species of the creature, who has been nicknamed JP by the staff there.
