#QUEBEC: Three people are dead and another confirmed missing after a fire at a home for the elderly in Canada. Police in the town of L’Isle Verte in the province of Quebec say that the fire broke out just after midnight.

#UKRAINE: Opposition leaders in Ukraine have called on the country’s leaders to call early elections – or face more anger from the public.

#CEASEFIRE: Rebels and government leaders in South Sudan have agreed a ceasefire which will begin within 24 hours. The deal is aimed at halting violence that has left thousands dead over the last five weeks.

#ACID: A London woman was today convicted of throwing sulphuric acid at her former friend. Mary Konye inflicted what the London Metropolitan Police called a “truly horrific” attack on her friend Naomi Oni. Police say that the attacker was jealous of her former friend.
