€1.4m-worth of heroin seized in Dublin city

One man in his 30s was arrested.

HEROIN WITH AN estimated street value of €1.4 million has been seized by gardaí in Dublin city.

The heroin was found as part of Operation Thistle, which is targeting organised criminals in the south inner city.

Gardaí from the Kevin Street Drugs Unit also seized cannabis herb with a estimated value of €10,000 during a planned search of a premises in the area yesterday.

One man in his 30s was arrested and is currently detained at Kevin Street Garda Station under section two of the Criminal Justice, (Drug Trafficking) Act.
