Man charged over hit and run death of 14-year-old in Cabra

A MAN HAS appeared in court charged in connection with the death of a 14-year-old boy who died after he was hit by a car in Dublin.

Ruadhan Treacy (31) of Dunshaughlin in Meath appeared before Dublin District Court this morning.

He was charged with being the driver of a car which was involved in causing injuries to teenager Conor Hickey and with failing to remain at the scene of the incident. Treacy is also accused of not holding a driving licence at the time of the incident.

Conor Hickey was struck by a car on Fassaugh Road in Cabra on Friday 2 December 2011. He died the following night.

Treacy was remanded on bail to appear before the court again on 25 July.
