Home care firm to create 540 jobs

520 of the jobs at Comfort Keepers will be part-time, with 25 full-time roles.

A HOME CARE firm has announced the creation of more than 500 jobs in Ireland.

Some 520 of the positions at international firm Comfort Keepers will be part-time, with 25 full-time management roles.

Comfort Keepers provides care for people who are elderly or have disabilities, but want to remain in their own homes. Services include bathing, feeding, mobility assistance, housekeeping and companionship.

Managing director at the company Bob Power said he expected recruits for the roles to come from “a range of backgrounds”.

He told RTÉ’s Morning Ireland: “We want to employ 520 Fetac level 5 qualified carers,” adding: “I know Fás are running a large number of healthcare training courses bringing people into the sector. There will also be people within the sector who want to work more hours.”

Comfort Keepers also operates in the US, Canada, Portugal and Singapore.
