6 desks that will make working from home feel more productive

You won’t have to drag yourself out of bed for these top tables.

THERE’S NO DOUBT that style is often on a par with function when it comes to motivating ourselves. So, a desk we can’t wait to pull a chair up to is a must for any of us who work from home – be it a few days a year or full-time.

This week, we’ve found six ideal options that will no doubt contribute to hitting those deadlines.

Light work: For the minimalist in you, keep things simple, yet hard-working, with a desk that has a plain table top and sturdy crossed legs for added interest. We love how @myhomeofficedesign keeps things light, bright and airy, which is sure to avoid any dozing at the desk.

Find a similar cross-legged version at IKEA.

Change of scene: Trestle tables are a godsend for those of us who like to shake things up. Easy to dismantle and reassemble, they’re perfect for setting up in any room you feel like working in for the day. With plenty of legroom and storage underneath, they’re great for creative types like @pfeifer.design.

Find a trestle like this one on Private Floor.

Make a statement: For something a bit more permanent, look for a stocky, banker’s desk that commands the room. @cooteandco adds symmetry with two large lamps and a comfy chair means whoever’s working here is in it for the long haul.

Look to Flanagan Kerins for a banker’s desk like this one.

Accessorise all areas: @smyk_w_kuchni_blog plays with accessories and surrounds herself with inspiring prints, fresh plants and even a work buddy – often welcomed by those who work from home. This light-toned desk adds some freshness and ties in nicely with the wood floors and white walls.

Quick clear up: Make it look like you’re always organised and invest in a desk with drawers – it’ll be easy to hide away any clutter if clients are arriving and placing it by a large window lets them get distracted by the view, too. @maisonparfaitenl keeps things neat and leaves the shelves for display rather than loose paper or stationery.

For a desk with handy storage, look to VidaXL.ie.

Writing nook: Use space wisely like @loves_leeds_homes does and set things up in that awkward corner under the stairs. Fun wallpaper establishes the space and hairpin legs and thin table tops ensure the desk doesn’t take up too much precious room.

You might need to go bespoke, but the two hairpin-legged desk from S Alternative Furniture could also do the trick if the space allows.
