What can I get around Ireland... for exactly €225,000?

From a bungalow in Clare to a Donegal home with panoramic views.

FINDING A HOME that matches your budget without compromising your list of must-haves can be tricky, but we’re here to make that task easier.

Each week we round up a selection of homes currently on the market in Ireland around the same price point, giving you a snapshot of what a particular amount could get you.

This week, we’re looking at properties around the country with an asking price of exactly €225,000 — from a four-bedroom bungalow in Clare to a five-bedroom home in Donegal with panoramic views of the countryside.

Ennis, Co Clare — €225,000

In the popular suburb of Ballyalla, you’ll find a four-bedroom, two-bathroom detached bungalow with interesting architecture throughout both the exterior and interior of the property. It sits on almost half an acre, which provides a private site for this unique family home, and includes a double garage.

Inside, the vaulted ceiling and large picture windows in the sitting room give a brightness to the living area, which also has a solid fuel stove. There are parquet timber floors in the entry and dining rooms; sliding doors lead onto a large side patio and back garden.

The floors are tiled throughout the main floor, with laminate flooring in the bedrooms above. Skylights brighten two of the bedrooms, and the living room has a unique feature window made from stained glass.

The home offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, and the original planning permission included the option to build a double garage, for which the foundation has already been laid.

Inside, there is a tiled entryway which leads to a sitting room with a solid fuel stove with a timber mantel above. Two of the five substantial bedrooms have en suite shower rooms, and the kitchen has high-gloss cabinetry, perfect for keeping stains and grime away.
