What can I get around Ireland for... exactly €275,000?

Have a peek inside a six-bedroom in Connemara or a terraced home in West county Dublin.

FINDING A HOME that matches your budget without compromising your list of must-haves can be tricky, but we’re here to make that task easier.

Each week we round up a selection of homes currently on the market in Ireland around the same price point, giving you a snapshot of what a particular amount could get you.

This week, we’re looking at properties around the country with an asking price of exactly €275,000 – a budget that will offer you a range of options, from a six-bedroom detached home in Connemara to a sweet terraced house in north Dublin city.

Oughterard, Connemara – €275,000

We’ll start with this gem in Connemara, a six-bedroom, five-bathroom detached home overlooking the Owenriff river. Covering almost 2,500 square feet, the property is large but might benefit from a little updating. Planning permission has been granted for two semi-detached houses, so there’s room to expand as well.

The property is in walking distance of Oughterard town, with shops, supermarket, pubs, restaurants and bank all nearby. The area is served by Bus Eireann and City Link buses throughout the day.

Tulla, Co Clare – €275,000

Back across the country to county Clare, this four-bedroom, two-bathroom detached home has space inside and acreage outside. The property consists of 2,500 square feet and is set on about five acres.

The stonebuilt farmhouse has been extended and renovated throughout the year, most recently with the addition of the sunroom in 2002. It still maintains period details that give it character – although it may be in need of an upgrade in parts. Connected to the house is a workshop/studio space, and the property has two glass houses and a polytunnel for all your gardening needs.
