FINDING A HOME that matches your budget without compromising your list of must-haves can be tricky, but we’re here to make that task easier.
Each week we round up a selection of homes currently on the market in Ireland around the same price point, giving you a snapshot of what a particular amount could get you.
This week, we’re looking at properties around the country with an asking price of exactly €300,000, from a south Dublin suburb to a four-bedroom home in Cavan overlooking a lake.
If you’re looking in the Dublin area, you’ll find a three bedroom, two bathroom semi-detached house in Aylesbury, Co Dublin. The property has hardwood floors throughout, as well as wainscoting in the entryway, adding to the classic appeal when you walk through the door. There has been a front extension, which added to the sitting room and hallway.
There is exposed brick in the kitchen, and the sunroom adds tonnes of natural light at the back of the home. Upstairs, you’ll find three bedrooms and a family bathroom, and the attic offers extra storage space.
In Co Tipperary, meanwhile, you could snap up Westfield House, a four bedroom, one bathroom detached home. There are offices on the property, as well as a paddocks. Westfield House is only two miles from New Inn Village, but is located in a quiet, rural spot.
The sitting rooms and kitchen have fireplaces, and the sitting room has an exposed stone wall that adds architectural interest. Upstairs, the bedrooms are set in the slanting eaves, making them extra cosy for relaxing; the clawfoot tub will make that endeavour even more pleasant.
Just north of Wexford town, you’ll find a five bedroom, three bathroom detached home within striking distance of the Castlebridge Village, the local GAA and rugby clubs, and picturesque beaches of the sunny southeast.
Inside, three of the bedrooms are on the main floor, and two of them are on the first floor. The two bay windows offer loads of light into the living room and master bedroom, and the kitchen is spacious, with an arched doorway into the dining area.
Finally, in Co Cavan, you’ll find a four bedroom, three bathroom detached home on an elevated site overlooking Corglass Lough. The property also has a detached garage, a summer house, glass house and polytunnel, for those ready to set their hands to growing vegetables or fruits.
Inside, panelling adds to the classic feel of the sitting room, which is spacious and bright, thanks to large windows. The kitchen has a bar counter in addition to a large dining area. There is also a sunroom off the dining area that leads onto a manicured patio.
