What can I get around Ireland... for €675,000 exactly?

From a grand villa in Co Offaly to an oceanside rectory in Sligo.

FINDING A HOME that matches your budget without compromising your list of must-haves can be tricky, but we’re here to make that task easier.

Each week we round up a selection of homes currently on the market in Ireland around the same price point, giving you a snapshot of what a particular amount could get you.

This week, we’re looking at properties around the country with an asking price of exactly €675,000 – from an old rectory in Co Sligo to former parochial hall on 25 acres in Co Offaly.

Hollystown, Dublin 15 – €675,000

With a budget this size, it’s no surprise that you could purchase a property close to Dublin — but that feels like it’s in the heart of the countryside. White Gables is a four-bedroom, three-bathroom detached home on almost a full acre of land. While you’re surrounded by green, you’ll only be a few minutes from the M50 motorway, Blanchardstown shopping centre and the National Aquatic Centre.

The property has a sweeping driveway with electric gates and a well-manicured garden. On the main floor, you’ll find an impressive entrance hallway, a spacious living room with sliding doors leading to a decking area, a family room, as well as a super-sized kitchen with a pantry and large utility room. Upstairs is the playroom, as well as the four double bedrooms, all with built in wardrobes.

Easkey, Co Sligo — €675,000

In Co Sligo, your budget will get you a six bedroom, four bathroom detached home with room for living space, a business, or even a family bed and breakfast. An old rectory, the building includes a wealth of period details, including high ceilings, wooden sash windows with shutters, fireplaces in each room, corniced ceilings and period wooden floors in the front reception rooms.

The bedrooms at the front of the house overlook the Easkey River, and the home is just a few minutes walk to the ocean. The oceanside village of Easkey offers you the convenience of a town as well.

Clara, Co Offaly — €675,000

If you fancy yourself an even bigger parcel of land, how does 25 acres in Co Offaly sound? Parochial Hall, also known as Drayton Villa, is an eight-bedroom, four-bathroom detached home built in 1849. The main house has a porch to the front and a large extension to the west. In addition to the main house, there is a walled courtyard to the west with a two-storey coach house and stables, connected by a brick-lined tunnel. To the rear of the coach house yard is a walled orchard and garden.

While the house itself will need modernising to suit the contemporary needs of today’s families, it offers ample space — over 7,000 square feet of it in fact — to turn into your dream home.
