What can I get in Ireland for... around €500,000?

We look at what the same price point means around the country.

WHETHER THE LOCATION is perfect but there’s no back garden, or the size is ideal but out of your price range, compromising on your list of ‘must-haves’ is something you’ll soon become accustomed to while hunting for a suitable house.

If a house within a certain price range is currently top of that list, panic not, because we’ve done some of the hard work for you. Each week we round up four homes in a certain price bracket. This week: €500,000.

From a four-bed close to Marlay Park to a new development in Naas, here are some hot properties that are around that mark.

Kilkenny, Co Kilkenny – €500,000

Part of a development called The School Yard, No 1 is one of 12 A-rated homes. Spread over 2,000 sq ft, the detached house has its own solar heating for water, a high level of insulation and a triple glazed porch. Inside, each room is well appointed and would need little work. Custom features include a walk-in larder, extensive sliderobes, and a high quality kitchen.

Kilkenny city and all of its amenities is just a short walk away, while Dublin can be reached within an hour and a half. Close to the New Road roundabout on the Castlecomer Road, Newpark shopping centre, Newpark Hotel, and Kilkenny College, are all just minutes away, too.
