What can I get around Ireland for... €550,000 on the nose?

From four acres and a tennis court in Waterford to sea views in Wexford.

Each week we round up a selection of homes currently on the market in Ireland around the same price point, giving you a snapshot of what a particular amount could get you.

This week, our budget is exactly €550,000. From a new build in Wexford or a semi-detached spot close to the action in Dublin, here’s a selection of homes in that price range. 

Rosslare Harbour, Co Wexford – €550,000

A location overlooking Rosslare Harbour is an appealing characteristic of this four-bedroom, four-bathroom detached home in Wexford. Interesting architectural details, including expansive windows across the front to maximise the panoramic view, make this property stand out from the crowd. You’ll be just 200 metres from a beautiful and private sandy beach, while also nicely situated at the edge of the development, providing ample privacy.

The house itself is finished to a high standard, with an oak staircase, a walled garden, as well as a detached garage and off-street parking. This home is located quite close to Rosslare and Kilrane, you have supermarkets and schools at your fingertips, not to mention the Rosslare Europort, which offers daily ferry services to the UK and mainland Europe.

Glasnevin, Co Dublin – €550,000

Woodstown, Co Waterford – €550,000

For €550,000 in Co Waterford, you’ll find a four-bedroom, three-bathroom detached home on a whopping four acres – and a tennis court. In addition to a spot to practice your forehand, the property has fruit trees, a vegetable garden a green house and outbuildings. The home itself has an interesting, light-filled entryway with a double height ceiling, which would provide a nice welcome home each day. Cobh, Co Cork – €550,000

For this budget, you’ll find quite a grand home in Cobh, Co Cork that was built in 1898, complete with a striking staircase and twelve foot ceilings, perfect for a dramatic entrance. With six bedrooms and three bathrooms, the high ceilings add to the feeling of spaciousness, and the roof was recently replaced. 

The house is set on 1.3 acres, with a separate greenhouse and manicured grounds, as well as a view of the harbour from the front garden. With this much space, it might come as a surprise that Cobh town is only 500 metres away, with the train station just a quick walk as well.
