Industrial chic and a rooftop oasis in the heart of Galway city

The word ‘industrial’ might not typically be linked to a beautiful home – but this property pulls it off.

1 Daft Daft

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN IS not something we traditionally associate with relaxed comfort and warmth, but in the case of this Galway property, we’re happy to make an exception.

Tucked away on St Paul’s Road, just a five-minute stroll from the city centre, this property makes a serious impression.

4 Daft Daft

Architecturally designed, this stunning home spans three floors and 204 sq m/2196 sq ft. It sits on a private and secure enclosed site, with a patio area, gardens, and plenty of parking outside.

2 Daft Daft

Upon entering the property, you’re greeted by a large, bright reception room, with high ceilings and large windows that fill the room with sun.

Concrete stairs add a touch of aforementioned warehouse chic, as does the incredible glass wall that extends across most of the east building, all the way to the top floor.

3 Daft Daft

The modern design of this home extends to the kitchen/dining area, which features an exposed concrete ceiling and chic black fittings. There’s also a sliding door for easy access to the utility room, and access to the garden.

5 Daft Daft

Upstairs, the home has four bedrooms, three of which are doubles. The master bedroom has access to an en-suite bathroom as well as a dressing room, and there is parquet flooring throughout that was hand laid by the current owners.

On the top floor, there’s something really special: a rooftop garden. This oasis is a sun trap thanks to its south-westerly aspect, and it makes a truly gorgeous space to sit and relax in.

6 Daft Daft

Located just five minutes from Galway city, this property is in the heart of the action, but has enough space and privacy to lend a sense of peace when it’s needed.

All that the city has to offer is on hand, including gorgeous Salthill, which is a two-minute drive away.

This property on St Pauls Road, Galway City, Co Galway is on sale for €895,000 from Sherry FitzGerald Galway via Daft.ie.

It’s a shame Dublin is so scared of building up, such a waste of space above.

Dublin has a shortage of office blocks. Highrise doesn’t only mean office space silly.

I disagree, Dublin may be old but nothing wrong with blending new with old. The city of London is a good example of this. The shard is a lovely building. The area around the shard was rundown and neglected for years. Looks a lot better today. Highrise large apartment blocks is just what Dublin needs to stop the urban sprawl.
