Household borrowing down

LOANS TO households fell by 4.1% in June according to figures released by the Central Bank. Mortgage lending is down 1.5% for the year while spending slumped by 13.1%. The bank said the amount repaid by households was larger than the amount being borrowed. Loans to business are also down by 2.5% in June.
