What can I get around Ireland... for €300,000 on the nose?

From a semi-detached home in Dublin to a former parochial house in Westmeath.

FINDING A HOME that matches your budget without compromising your list of must-haves can be tricky, but we’re here to make that task easier.

Each week we round up a selection of homes currently on the market in Ireland around the same price point, giving you a snapshot of what a particular amount could get you.

This week, we’re looking at properties around the country with an asking price of exactly €300,000 – a budget that might just help you get on the property market or upgrade to a slightly bigger spot, depending on your area.

Killucan, Co Westmeath – €300,000

In Killucan, Co. Westmeath, €300,000 will get you an old parochial house with three bedrooms and four bathrooms. St. Joseph’s Parochial House is a detached house surrounded by green in every direction. Built in 1890, the former Roman Catholic building has two large reception rooms with high ceilings and detailed cornices, as well as a homey kitchen including a traditional Aga stove.

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, two of which are en suite, as well as a prayer room with stained glass windows, which might make a nice office if you weren’t as religiously inclined. The home is walking distance to Killucan and Rathwire villages, and an easy drive to the M4 and M6 motorways at Kinnegad.
