THE FORCED DISMANTLING of the Occupy Dame Street protest camp early yesterday morning generated headlines abroad – though most of the international coverage was closer to home.

The BBC, the Guardian, the Huffington Post and Irish Central all ran pieces on the incident.

However, outside the US and Britain, only one other news site appears to have covered yesterday’s events: Egypt’s English-language Ahram Online.
