Body recovered after car goes into water at Howth harbour

The Coast Guard was alerted by a member of the public.

THE BODY OF a woman has been recovered after a car entered the water in Howth, north Dublin.

The Coast Guard received a call just before 11am from a member of the public who said they saw a car going into the water from the middle pier at Howth harbour.

The Howth lifeboat was tasked to the scene and the car was located earlier this afternoon.

Gardaí have confirmed that the body of a woman was recovered by the Garda Water Unit.

The car was then winched out of the water.
