Hozier was the toast of the celeb-packed Coachella festival

Good stuff.

HE’S JUST 25, but Irish musician Hozier has been knocking the socks off people Stateside.

He has already appeared on numerous US TV shows, performed with the legendary Annie Lennox on the Grammys, and now he’s hanging out with Haim and wowing people at the celeb-packed music festival Coachella.

Take a look at the crowd that turned out to watch his set yesterday:

Music journalists are always clambering to find the next big things at major festivals like Coachella – which takes place in the Colorado Desert in California  - and this year our own Hozier was the name on everyone’s lips.

He had already appeared on the cover of Billboard’s Coachella special, and his appearances at the festival yesterday got numerous media mentions:

The LA Times included Hozier in its list of ‘five acts you might have overlooked’, saying:

Hozier feels like this year’s version of the act booked for Coachella just prior to scoring a huge mainstream hit.

The Hollywood Reporter, meanwhile, said that Hozier played “to a massing throng stretched far back along the field”.

They added that his set “seemingly set out to prove that his repertoire goes deeper than one great song”, and he “displayed songwriting chops and showmanship”.

Entertainment Weekly recommended going to see Hozier, saying “he sounds good from everywhere”.

On Twitter, the reaction was even more enthusiastic:
