CUSTOMS OFFICERS HAVE seized herbal cannabis worth an estimated €4.5 million at Dublin Port.

The drugs were found hidden in 1,050 tins of olives.

The herbal cannabis had been double vacuum packed in order to avoid detection.

Revenue said that the drugs were found as a result of profiling.

Officers said that they believe the drugs were destined for the United Kingdom and were in transit through Ireland, having come from Spain.

Investigations are ongoing in Ireland, Spain and the UK.
