Watch this heroic woman crawling to the finish line of a marathon (and still come 3rd)

YOU CAN DO IT.

THIS IS ONE of those things that’s agonising to watch at the start.

Elite runner Hyvon Ngetich from Kenya  is clearly in extreme pain as she struggles to reach the finish line of the Austin Marathon in Texas earlier this week. Her legs gave out just 50 metres away from the finish line – she had been in first place at the time.

When the video starts, she’s on her hands and knees, barely moving, and with a wheelchair behind her in case she needs it.

At one stage she stops and hugs the ground. It’s not clear if she’ll be able to continue.

But then she gets up, she looks ahead, and she keeps going. In the end, she came third – but race organisers gave her the same prize money as the person who came second in recognition of her huge effort.
