Video: Junior doctors explain the reasons behind today's strike

TheJournal.ie visited the Mater Hospital in Dublin to speak to some of those taking part in the IMO’s 24 No More protest.

MORE THAN 3,000 junior doctors are taking part in strike action across Ireland today to urge the HSE to implement an EU directive on working hours.

They argue that excessive shift work beyond what is recommended by the directive has a negative effect both on themselves and on the care they can deliver to patients.

TheJournal.ie spoke to some of those doctors protesting outside the Mater Hospital in Dublin city. Hear below what they had to say:
