Today is the first day of the Chinese Year of the Dragon.

TODAY IS THE first day of the Chinese New Year, which this year is the Year of the Dragon.

The Lunar New Year, or Spring Festival, is being celebrated with a range of special events and parades around the world.

The Year of the Dragon  is the fifth of the 12 cycles on the Chinese calendar.

The Dublin Chinese New Year Festival will continue to run this week and some events, including a photography exhibition, will be carried until late February.
