Both incidents took place early this morning, one in Wexford and one in Roscommon.

Updated 9.50pm

TWO MEN HAVE died in separate workplace accidents.

Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority are investigating both incidents.

The first took place at 8.45am this morning at a farm outside Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.

A man in his 50s died in the incident.

RTÉ News reports that he fell into a storage unit containing grain.

Just more than an hour later, another man, also in his 50s, died after an incident at a steelworks in Roscommon.

It is believed a pile of steel fell on him.

He was airlifted to Galway University Hospital with serious injuries, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
