Investigation into Wicklow Mountains body find continues

Gardaí have not confirmed the identity of the remains found yesterday during a search for a missing teenager.

EFFORTS TO IDENTIFY the human remains found in an isolated area of the Wicklow Mountains near Kippure yesterday continue today.

Gardaí have not confirmed if the remains are those of a man or a woman.

The body was discovered during the search for missing teenager Marioara Rostas. RTÉ reports that the 18-year-old was last seen stepping into a car in Dublin city centre four years ago.

A preliminary examination of the body was carried out at the scene by the deputy state pathologist before the remains were removed to Tallaght Hospital for a post-mortem examination last night.
