Investigation after man's body found lying on country road

Police believe the death may be the consequence of a hit and run.

POLICE IN ARMAGH are investigating after the body of a man was found lying on a road early this morning.

The discovery was made in the Shillinghill Road area of Armagh shortly before 7am.

Police believe the death may be the consequence of a hit and run.

Detective Inspector Colin Patterson said, “We are currently working to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, however, at this stage we believe this may have been as a result of a hit and run RTC.

“I would particularly like to speak to anyone who can help us with our enquiries. I would appeal to them to contact Police at Armagh on the non-emergency number 101.”
