Poll: Should Ireland change its time-zone?

Is it a good plan?

IN IRELAND, OUR clocks go back in less than a month.

But, should we do it? Or would it better to let Europe come back an hour and join up with them?

Independent TD Tommy Broughan has previously suggested legislation that would see Ireland join Central European Time.

He said at the time:

“It would be better for road safety as there is a peak of fatalities between 4pm and 7pm, particularly on dark evenings and it would cut down on energy consumption in the evening peak.”

But is he right? Would having the same time zone as Europe be beneficial for us?

We’re asking: Should Ireland change its time-zone?

Poll Results:

Yes (7739)
No (4926)
I don't know (1490)
