And we place 7th out of 28 countries surveyed around the world, too.

A REPORT BY Oracle Capital Group shows that Ireland is the seventh most entrepreneurial country in the world, and the top in Europe.

By way of contrast, the bottom ten countries feature several European industrial powerhouses, including Germany, France and the UK. Japan comes dead last, with Hungary, Italy, Portugal and Spain also in the bottom ten.

Ireland’s top scores came in metrics measure the image of entrepreneurs, or how well they are received, with high scores for prior experience and for early stage business activity.

The chairman of Oracle, which provides services to family funds and high net worth individuals, said that the results are a strong indicator of ongoing market development in different regions of the world.

He said: “The report is a valuable insight into the significance of entrepreneurial contribution to the growth of national economies and underscores the importance of businesses receiving support at government levels.”
