Irish man killed in Australia road accident

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the death of the young man in Queensland.

A YOUNG IRISH man has been killed in a road accident in Australia, the Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed.

A spokesperson for the Department said it is offering consular assistance to the family of the victim. The man, who has not been named, was from Galway.

According to RTÉ, the victim was in his early 20s and was originally from Ardrahan, near Gort. He is reported to have been in Australia for just five weeks before the accident in Ingham, Queensland.
