Irish man killed in New Zealand crash is named

One Irishman died and another was injured in a road accident in New Zealand on Friday.

AN IRISHMAN WHO died in a road accident in New Zealand on Friday has been named as 23-year-old Leslie Armitage from Co Tipperary, RTÉ reports.

New Zealand police have released a statement saying that another 21-year-old Irishman were involved in the accident. The unnamed man is said to have been injured in the incident. Both had been working as farmhands in the Ida Valley in Central Otago on the South Island.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance to the men’s families.
