Taking the train in the morning? Irish Rail has fixed the fault that was causing huge delays

There were delays of over 70 minutes to some trains in and out of Dublin earlier.

IRISH RAIL HAS fixed a signal fault that was causing major delays for trains in and out of Heuston earlier.

The problem emerged just before the start of rush hour, with the company advising passengers that delays of over half an hour could be expected for the evening.

It was fixed after 7pm – but by that stage the delays had increased to over an hour.

Refunds are available for anyone delayed past the 60 minute mark…
